As part of the implementation process, PowerReviews offers clients the ability to import any existing Ratings and Reviews they have collected via another online reviews provider, to ensure they do not lose their legacy data.
PowerReviews reserves the right to moderate all submitted content to ensure it adheres to the PowerReviews Authenticity Policy and PowerReviews Moderation Policy.

Requirements
You must compile your Ratings and Reviews from your previous reviews provider into a CSV file using UTF-8 encoding. This file must also include all PowerReviews required fields (below). PowerReviews can accept and display emoji characters within supported text fields (e.g., Review Title, Review Text, Review Display). Ensure your import file is UTF-8 encoded to correctly include these characters.
PowerReviews can offer guidance on how to populate any required fields that may be missing from your previous reviews provider. We also recommend contacting your previous reviews provider for instructions on how to export your existing reviews from their solution as soon as possible, if you're not sure how to do this.
Required Fields
You must provide the following fields in your file for PowerReviews to be able to import your data. Match the exact spelling and formatting to ensure your code is accurate.

Based on your previous reviews provider, you may have additional data or fields beyond these, or data that is stored in a different format. Contact your Implementation Team or Account Team to discuss any data you don't see listed above.
Sample File & Import Process
1. Prepare your file to send to PowerReviews, noting the requirements above.
- Click to download a review import sample CSV file.
2. Send your file to PowerReviews.
- If you are currently implementing, provide your file to your Implementation Team. Your Technical Implementation Consultant will validate and import the file to your Test and Production accounts.
- If you are an existing client, contact PowerReviews Technical Support to have us upload your file to your Production account.
- Please keep in mind that PowerReviews follows a Data Minimization Policy in terms of data imports, collection, and storage. We may therefore be unable to import certain legacy data points and will inform you if that's the case.
3. In the PowerReviews Portal, navigate to Moderation > Review Moderator Level 2 to approve the content, if you are participating in Level 2 Moderation.
Rating Only Imports
We have the ability to import star rating reviews that contain no text. Required and optional fields for this importer are listed below.
Note:
- If you have fields associated to your Rating Only reviews that are not listed below, they will not be processed with the import.
- Currently, Rating Only reviews will only display on your site if you have Rating Only collection enabled as well. If you do not want to collect new Rating Only reviews, we can still import your legacy Rating Only reviews in case you'd like to display them in the future.
