If/when you migrate from one eCommerce platform to another, the PowerReviews solution will need to be reimplemented on your new platform.
A successful migration plan must therefore incorporate the high-level steps below to avoid any interruption in your content collection/display on your website:
- Providing PowerReviews new product information, as product URLs and identifiers may change
- Migrating all previously collected content to new Page IDs as applicable (this is very common)
- Updating your Write-a-Review wrapper URL used for your Follow-Up Email
- Remapping your review templates to new product categories as applicable
- Validating that the user-generated content (UGC) lifecycle is fully functional on your new platform, which may include but is not limited to:
- Receipt of valid Order Data (via an Order Feed or the Checkout Beacon) and sending of your Follow-Up Email
- Review Collection and Display
- Q&A Collection and Display
- Image Display
- Social Features
- Syndication
- Verifying SEO is still implemented correctly
