PowerReviews can import any existing socially curated content (images/videos) you may have collected via another social curation provider. This ensures you do not lose any legacy content once you fully migrate to our solution.
This article contains the following sections:
You must compile your social UGC from your previous reviews provider into a CSV file using UTF-8 encoding. This file must also include all PowerReviews required fields (below). Prior to PowerReviews importing your social UGC, you must send us your Product Feed. To learn more about generating a Product Feed, click here.
PowerReviews can offer guidance on how to populate any required fields that may be missing from your previous social curation provider. We also recommend contacting your previous social curation provider for instructions on how to export your existing social UGC from their solution as soon as possible, if you're not sure how to do this.
You must provide the following fields in your file for PowerReviews to be able to import your content.
|media_url or image_source||Up to 650 characters. Must be .jpeg or .jpg file for images. Must be .mov, .mp4, or .m4v for videos.||URL directly to the image where it can be downloaded. This should be hosted by a third party and NOT a link to the Instagram post.|
|product_name||String. The maximum length for this value is 500 characters.||The name of the product on your Product Feed|
|page_id||Array, comma separated for multiple products. The maximum length for this value is 50 characters per page ID.||The unique ID for the product|
|author||@handle of the user who posted the content||Identification for who shared the content|
You may also include any of the following optional fields in your file.
|caption||Up to 2,200 characters.||Caption of photo or other description text. Can also include #hashtags.|
|date_posted||Date. Use MM/DD/YYYY or any other valid date format.||Original post date (otherwise default is upload date)|
|tags||Array of associated tags or labels comma separated for multiple tags). Lowercase characters. Uppercase, /, ? or SPACES are not permitted.||Can be used for further classification|
|permission_status||REQUESTED, FOLLOW UP, APPROVED, GRANTED||Permission to use content status|
Based on your previous social curation provider, you may have additional data or fields beyond these, or data that is stored in a different format. Contact your Implementation Team or Account Team to discuss any data you don't see listed above.
Emojis and Symbols
Emojis are accepted, however please note that during the export of content, some emojis may not process correctly and may turn into other values or symbols. Please be sure to review the caption column to ensure that emojis were included correctly, and remove any erroneous symbols. Captions will be imported as-is, if not reviewed prior.
Sample File & Import Process
1. Prepare your file to send to PowerReviews, noting the requirements above.
- Click to download a social import sample CSV file.
2. Send your file to PowerReviews.
- If you are currently implementing, provide your file to your Implementation Team. Your Technical Implementation Consultant will validate and import the file to your Test and Production accounts.
- If you are an existing client, contact PowerReviews Technical Support to have us upload your file to your Production account.
Note: Processing time may vary depending on the amount of content. Once we have the file, we can give a more accurate time estimation for completion. We recommend only including content for products that are in stock and/or from the last 6-12 months.
